When you buy VellumDoc Professional or Team, you're buying a perpetual licence to use the version you purchased. It doesn't expire, and it keeps working whether or not you buy anything from us again. You own the licence; we own the software.
You may use it for commercial work, for clients, and for anything else lawful. You may not resell it, rent it out, redistribute it, or attempt to remove or defeat its licensing.
Seats are per person, not per session. Two people sharing one seat is outside your licence even if they never use it at the same time.
Professional and Team licences are issued to a specific computer. To activate, the app sends one message containing your activation code and a hashed hardware fingerprint, and receives your licence file. After that the app makes no further network calls. Enterprise licences send nothing at all.
You can move a licence between machines yourself: deactivate in the app, enter the release code in your account, then activate the new computer. Releases are rate-limited to roughly three per seat per year to prevent misuse — if you have a genuine reason to exceed that, contact us and we'll sort it out.
If a computer is lost, stolen or dead, sign in to your account and release the seat there.
The trial gives you every feature for 30 days or 10 operations, whichever runs out first. No card and no account are required. Output produced during the trial is yours to keep and use, with no watermark and no restriction. When the trial ends, existing files are unaffected — only new operations stop.
VellumDoc runs on your device and we provide support. Because every document and workflow is different, you are responsible for checking each result before you rely on it — particularly conversions and redactions — and for keeping backups of your originals.
Redaction removes text from the file and the output is automatically re-opened and searched to confirm nothing survived. That check is thorough, but it is not a substitute for your own review before a document leaves your organisation. Always confirm a redacted document is clear before you share it. You remain responsible for what you send.
You're also responsible for using the software lawfully, and for having the right to process the documents you put through it.
We stand behind the software and we provide real support from the people who built it. But to the extent permitted by law, Singalang Technologies is not liable for loss of data, business interruption, lost profits, or other losses arising from the use of output that has not been verified.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights you have under the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999 or other laws that cannot be contracted out of.
Licence purchases are final and non-refundable. That is why the trial is genuinely complete: 30 days, every feature, no watermark and no crippled output, with no card and no account required. Use it on your own real documents and satisfy yourself before you pay — we would much rather you took the full month than bought on a guess.
If the software does not do what this website says it does, that is a different matter entirely. Tell us, and we will fix it or make it right. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999 or other consumer legislation that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Enterprise agreements are governed by the terms of that agreement.
Your perpetual licence covers the version you bought, including fixes and improvements released within it. Major new versions may be a paid upgrade; if so we'll say what's changed and what it costs, and your existing version keeps working either way.
We won't remove a feature you paid for from the version you own.
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.
We may update these terms — if we do, we'll change the date at the top, and material changes will be notified by email to licence holders. Continuing to use the software after an update means you accept the current version.
